Soprano • Voice Teacher • Creative Artist
Sydney Fabregas is an American soprano and educator known for her vibrant stage presence, stylistic versatility, and passionate commitment to developing young artists. Originally from Texas and now based in Montana’s Flathead Valley, Sydney has built a career that blends performance, teaching, and creative storytelling.
Sydney’s love of performing began early—singing along to The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins on family road trips—and carried her through years of community theatre, special-effects makeup work, and early vocal training. At fourteen, she was already a freelance makeup artist, and by high school, she was deeply immersed in choir, theatre, and classical voice.
Her classical studies accelerated when she was accepted into the Houston Grand Opera High School Voice Studio, where she trained under Dr. Jason Lester. This experience sparked her passion for opera and set the course for her professional journey.
Sydney earned her Bachelor of Music while studying in Dr. Lester’s studio at both Houston Baptist University and Palm Beach Atlantic University. During this time, she appeared in opera scenes, performed as a soloist in top choirs, won HBU’s President’s Competition, the chorus of Palm Beach Opera’s Turandot (2020), and founded her own private online voice studio.
She continued her training at Carnegie Mellon University, completing her Master of Music under the mentorship of acclaimed soprano Maria Spacagna. While at Carnegie Mellon, she performed roles including La Princesse in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges, La Fée in Viardot’s Cendrillon, and Monica in Menotti’s The Medium—a performance that followed her win at VOICExperience’s Opera Idol Competition.
From 2022–2024, Sydney served as a Principal Teaching Artist and Principal Vocal Artist with Heartland Sings in Fort Wayne, Indiana. There, she taught private voice lessons, performed in a wide range of concerts and cabarets, and helped develop educational outreach programs. She also served as an adjunct professor at Purdue University Fort Wayne and sat on the board of Opera on Tap Fort Wayne, contributing both as a performer and social media coordinator.
In 2024 and 2025, Sydney expanded her performance portfolio with solo appearances, cabarets, regional theatre, and touring shows—including Heartland Sings’ Art-V series, where she performed and even directed/choreographed productions. She became a semifinalist in the Classical Singer Competition (Classical Young Artist and Musical Theatre categories) in Washington, D.C., and later a National Finalist in Chicago. She also joined the cast of regional productions of The Rocky Horror Show and In Pieces: A New Musical, playing River. Highlights of her recent seasons include featured performances in Heartland Sings A Choral Testament, Beckoning Light, as well as directing and performing in the fan-favorite Disney Eras Tour show.
Today, Sydney continues to perform and teach, offering both in-person and virtual voice lessons. She is devoted to helping singers build healthy technique, confident artistry, and strong character—values she brings to every lesson, rehearsal, and performance.
